John L. Castillo, 95, peacefully passed away on January, 13, 2017 in Houston, Texas. He was born July 13, 1921 in Taft, Texas to Jose and Juanita Lopez Castillo. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jose and Juanita Castillo; wife, Dora Castillo; daughters, Yvonne G. Castillo and Delores E. Vasquez; brothers, Jose, Fernando and Felix. John is survived by his children, Rudolph J. Castillo, wife (Velma J. Castillo deceased), Richard Castillo and wife Elizabeth, Robert J. Castillo and wife Veronica and Marie Silva and husband David; brothers, Roy and Jesse Castillo; 18 grandchildren; 29 great grandchildren; 12 great-great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews relatives and friends. John was a proud WWII Veteran and a member of the VFW Denver Harbor Lodge #8930. The family will receive friends on Monday, January 16, 2017 from 5-9 PM at Forest Park Lawndale Funeral Home with a 7 PM Rosary. A Funeral Mass will be held Tuesday, January 17, 2017 at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church 9217 Ave. L Houston, Texas 77012. Interment will follow at Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery.
