Jose Cruz Vargas

Jose enjoyed many years as a landscape designer. He had a true passion for beautifying lawns and the lives of others. He was a genuine, hardworking and giving man. Jose was an extremely loving and caring husband, father, grandfather, son and friend to all. He took great pride in taking care of his family and making the best of every situation.

Jose was preceded in death by his loving wife, Guadalupe Vargas Reyes; his father, Octaviano Vargas Padilla and his sister, Martha Vargas. He is survived by his children, Pedro Villegas, Irasema Guardado-Maple, Jose Vargas and Gabriela Vargas; his grandchildren, Matthew Maple, Sebastian Maple, Donivin Vinh Vargas, Isabelle Martinez, Sophia Villegas, Xiomara Abrego, and Enrique Abrego; his mother, Bertha Vargas; his siblings, Octaviano Vargas Jr., Bertha Alicia Vargas, Maria de Jesus Vargas, Petra Vargas, Juan Vargas and Raul Vargas; as well as his many loving aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Visitation will be from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Tuesday, March 3, 2015 at Earthman Resthaven Funeral Home with a Rosary at 7:00 pm. Celebration of Life Mass will be held at 10:00 am on Wednesday, March 4, 2015 at Assumption Catholic Church, 901 Rose Lane, Houston, TX 77038. Interment will follow at Earthman Resthaven Cemetery.
