Juanita "Janie" Gonzalez Rodriguez, age 76, devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, passed away at home in Houston, Texas on Tuesday, July 17, 2012. She was born on Sunday, December 8, 1935 to Baldomero Gonzalez and Felipa Martinez Gonzalez in Matamoros, Tamaulipas, Mexico. She is preceded in death by her parents; and son, George Rodriguez. She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Jorge Moran Rodriguez; son, Robert Rodriguez and wife, Ramona; four grandchildren, Robert "Bobby" Rodriguez, Rachel Ruth Rodriguez Garcia, Sampson George Rodriguez, Ashley Renee Rodriguez; and one great granddaughter, Mia Isabella Garcia. My grandmother was an exceptional woman who lived everyday for her family. She taught me that family comes first and that you forgive people no matter what. I will truly miss her unconditional love, compassion for others, hearing her laughter, her makeup lessons, her awesome hamburgers and fried chicken. One of our favorite past times was sitting on the front porch swinging and singing together. As a family we take comfort in knowing that she is reunited with her son, George and that we have another angel watching over us.
