OBITUARY

Kristina Dawn PAYNE

3 December, 198025 August, 2020

Kristi's love overflowed in her 39 years as a daughter, sister, mother, auntie, cousin, friend, sports radio personality and podcaster. She leaves behind a 6 year old son, Mason, who was her pride and joy!

“Hey Friend!” That was Kristi’s motto. Beautiful inside and out, she didn't know how to not be nice. Kristi was intelligent enough to be a CEO, tall and pretty enough to be a runway model, kind and compassionate enough to be your therapist, and humble enough to not be aware of how special she truly was. She could out argue anyone about sports, and loved music - more specifically old school R&B and Hip Hop. She enjoyed baking and recently started exploring more cooking recipes thanks to quarantine.

Kristi rarely talked about herself - she was always gushing over her hopes and dreams for her friends and family. Their biggest supporter. First to congratulate. She had a way of making you feel like the smallest accomplishment was the most important thing in the universe and worthy of accolades. She didn't really stress over her life; things flowed, and she was determined to step into the best version of herself while raising a beautiful vibrant boy.

In addition to her son, Kristi leaves leaves behind loving family members, her boyfriend, and an extended circle of friends that were Fr-amily to her! On Earth, we have lost Kristi. In the Creator's heaven, she is welcomed by her older brother and grandmother.

In lieu of flowers, the family has set up a GoFundMe campaign to accept donations that will help cover final expenses and care for her son. GoFundMe Link: http://gf.me/u/yvrvsj

Kristi, there are no words that can describe the love you brought to all of us. I will forever cherish the times we had together, Vegas, Karoake, many HDD gatherings, hollering at basketball games, and the list goes on and on. May the Lord give comfort to your family and Mason! ♡

Your Smile..Your Beauty.. Your Laugh...Your Wit...Your Humble Spirit...But Most of All Your Love You Gave to Mason and Everyone that knew you, you were not just a friend you were FAMILY, "FAM." Queen it has taken me days to process and time to build the strength to look at our pictures as I go down memory lane with an unfortunate familiar pain of loss. No words, just no words...its been a minute but you have been and will always be my Sista. From the drop top Altima, Make A Mark Foundation, Late night #7's con queso & 2 taquitos, Our Favorite Rockets Player "Clutch" the Mouse- Bear, LOL, to our silly inside jokes I laugh & cry praying that Mark met you at the gates and you know how much you are loved. I will never forget Our Memories and We will Honor Mason...Your Smile

-To the Payne Family, Krisit's Village is here to support you all and Mason, praying for God's comfort & Peace at this time.

Mindy May God's arms keep you, your family and her son lifted and comforted. Your family has been in my prayers and the members of my church at Fifthward Church of Christ since I knew of your great loss. I loved seeing you two together in school way back at Revere, I knew you were raised to love and protect each other just like my sister and I. Sending you again my deepest sympathy. May her beautiful legacy and the wonderful memories you all have shared with her bring you peace.

I’m still at a loss for words. We all literally grew up together. I remember the Crescent park days and just hanging out as kids. Kristi was always a light. She was always happy and positive with an infectious laugh. She will be missed dearly. I love you guys and may God continue to wrap his loving arms around y’all for comfort.

Kristi, I always knew we'd run into each other again, never did I imagine that day would never come. Your energy so strong, so bright, so light, so full of love will fill the voids in the hearts of those who miss you the most. The prettiest/funniest girl who stood on the sidelines of Lee Football games with the most intensity I've ever seen of anyone outside of the coaches or players. You became a Mommy with me, you were fulfilling your dreams in the sports world and you were taken too soon but your LEGACY, your ENERGY, your LAUGH, your Love... Will Live on FOREVER! Love Always

I’m just still trying to wrap my head around this, but I continue to pray for your family and especially Mason. Kristi, we may not have been as close as we once were, but I will cherish our memories. We had so many good times and so many great laughs. You will be missed dearly.

This is more of encouragement not a memory even though I have plenty lol. I want to tell the family that God will see them through and give them and her baby boy everything needed to get through this. Sending love peace and comfort to each and every one of you!

Kristi, I knew you in High School. You were kind to under classmen. You brought joy to those around you. It was fun following your love of sports in school and during your career. My heart goes out to your loved ones, you will be deeply missed.
