Larry Zane Wade

Larry was predeceased by his parents Vatchel and Martha Wade. He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Barbara, son Nathan and wife Amber, daughter Christal, grandchildren Brittany, Autumn, Dezaree, Alissa and Zane and a great grandson due soon. He is also survived by his sisters Janice Stephens and Darlene Buckner.

Larry was a veteran of the United States Army and served in the Vietnam War. He was a member of the Pipefitters Local Union 211 and graduated from the Joint Apprenticeship Training Program, placing in the top 10 of his class all 4 years. He was founder of Zane Mechanical, an HVAC company. He went to New Life Church in Houston, Texas.

Larry was a family man, a very devoted husband, father and grandfather. He loved his family and extended family very much and would do anything for them and was always there for them. He enjoyed spoiling his 5 grandchildren, and they all knew that they could talk Pawpaw into doing almost anything, and he would let them do "almost" anything. They could always count on kolaches and donuts on the morning after spending the night. He was excited to learn that he was about to be a great grandfather. "Uncle Larry" was much loved by his many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and great great nieces and great great nephews.

Larry loved to talk about God to everyone he knew and everyone he met. He enjoyed Alabama football, oldies music, fishing, golfing, playing cards with family on holidays, watching John Wayne and Clint Eastwood movies, talking to people, having philosophical conversations and working. He was a kid at heart but also had a serious and emotional side. He was a server to people and always willing to help anyone and found enjoyment and fulfillment in doing so.

He is loved by so many people and will be remembered for his big heart, his ability to make friends everywhere and his love to joke and play and make people laugh and smile. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends and all who knew him. May we all find comfort in knowing that he is now in heaven with our Lord and Savior and living in joy and peace.

Family and friends gathered during a visitation from 3:00 until 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 17 at Waltrip Funeral Directors in Houston, Texas, where funeral services were held in the chapel at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, February 18. Pastor Robert Bryant and his wife, Bobbie Bryant, officiated. Graveside services and interment followed in Houston, at Memorial Oaks Cemetery, where Larry received full military honors.
