

LaVon Rose Miles, 88, of Conroe, Texas, passed away on Monday, August 18, 2025, with her loving family by her side. She was born in Parsons, Kansas, on November 9, 1936, to the late Rufus and Gladys Lehr. LaVon was a proud graduate of Labette County High School, in Altamont, Kansas, the class of 1953. In 1955, she married the love of her life, a young man by the name of Carl Benjamin Miles. They spent the next 46 years together, building the life they dreamed of while raising their children, until his passing in 2001. She proudly served her country in the United States Army.
LaVon pursued many interests, some of which included sewing, making blue jean blankets and reading. She also enjoyed going on cruises and traveling. LaVon could often be found working out in her garden where she had an array of flowers. She was a faithful member of Living Word Lutheran Church, in The Woodlands. Dedicating her life to God, she spent time on some of the church’s committees, where she would help make sure everything was for the next service was in order.
LaVon was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband Carl; her siblings Albert Lehr, Jim Lehr and Ruby Lehr; and her son-in-law Ernest Zost. She leaves behind to cherish her loving memory her children Theresa Zost, and Douglas Miles and wife Pamela; her grandchildren Joshua Miles and wife Jo, and Jordan Miles and wife Molly; her great-grandchildren Euan, Tyler and Evelyn Miles; her numerous nieces and nephews; along with a host of other loving relatives and friends.
