

Dr. Linda Charlene Carter, a life long resident of Pasadena, Texas, went to her heavenly home on May 25, 2014. She was born in Houston, Texas to Charles and Sally Carter on May 1, 1951. She had a true servant's heart and loved sharing life and laughter with everyone she met.
She enjoyed reading, collected books, and traveled extensively.
After graduating from Pasadena High School, she attended Stephen F. Austin University where she received an undergraduate degree in education. Returning to the Pasadena area, she began her 42 year career in education. She subsequently earned her masters and doctoral degrees from the University of Houston. For the last ten years she had been teaching full time at the University of Houston Clear Lake where she helped educate and train future teachers.
She was an active member of Tallowood Baptist Church in Houston where she also enjoyed working with children' s mission organizations. Charlene was very involved with the Houston Children's Chorus as a volunteer, chaperon, and serving on the Board of Directors for several years.
She is preceded in death by her parents and grandparents. She is survived by her sister Sharon Pray, brother-in-law Al Pray, a nephew and his wife Charlie and Heather Pray, a great nephew Carter Pray and many other family members and friends.

Services will be at Forest Park Lawndale Funeral Home on Saturday May 31, 2014.
Visitation will be from 12:30 P.M. until 2:00 P.M. followed by a service celebrating her life starting at 2:00 P.M. Interment will follow immediately at the Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery.
