

Lloyd Edward Cizmar passed away, earning his wings, on Sunday August 21, 2022 surrounded by loved ones in the comfort of his home. Lloyd was born in Houston, Texas on December 11, 1939 where he attended Marshall Junior High School, Jefferson Davis High School with honors and the University of Houston. He was a longtime Boy Scout, reaching the rank of Eagle Scout. Later he helped charter and was Scout Master for Troop 874. He was an accomplished mechanical engineer most notably work for Kellogg, Brown and Root, where he was awarded six patents. He traveled the world as part of his job, visiting such countries as Indonesia and Japan.
Lloyd was also a gifted musician, playing trumpet in high school, with Henry Lee’s band and later as a long standing member of Eric Carlson and the Top Hatters. He was a talented and artistic woodworker, creating heirloom furniture, and an avid gardener specializing in growing vegetables.
He loved traveling with his intrepid wife, Gerry, taking cruises and visiting Germany. Nature captivated him. He found the beaches of the Cayman Islands and the Alaskan landscape equally fascinating. He bravely traveled to Florida with his young son and daughter, creating a wonderful and memorable experience. He was an adept fisherman, his fishing trips with his father and son were much talked about and loved.
Of an analytical disposition, Lloyd had an insatiable curiosity for the world and people around him.
Lloyd was preceded in death by his parents, Alfons and Willie Mae Cizmar. He is survived by his wife Gerhild Cizmar, his son Lloyd Cizmar II and his wife Nurhaida, his daughter Lisa Mclellan and his grandchildren Mason and Madison McLellan.
A visitation for Lloyd will be held Thursday, September 1, 2022 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Earthman Resthaven Funeral Home, 13102 North Fwy, Houston, TX 77060.
A funeral service will occur Friday, September 2, 2022 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, 13102 North Fwy, Houston, TX 77060.
A committal service will occur Friday, September 2, 2022 from 11:30 AM to 12:00 PM, 13102 North Fwy, Houston, TX 77060.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Lloyd Edward Cizmar to American Heart Association (www.heart.org), American Diabetes Association (www.diabetes.org)
