On January 19th, just five days short of turning ninety three, Lorraine Jeanette Casella Jacobe “Gram” went to live with her Lord Jesus Christ. A daughter of Italian immigrants from Chicago, Illinois she was the youngest of twelve children. Shortly after marrying a native Houstonian in 1944, she moved to Texas and has made Houston her home ever since.
Gram was a person that when you met her, you felt like you’d known her your entire life. She never met a stranger and always had a smile from ear to ear. She loved people, seeing the best in everyone and every situation. She was truly incapable of having anything bad to say about anyone. Always taking the high road seemed to just come naturally to her. Her life was filled with friends and there was always a song in her heart.
She worshipped her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, by being an everyday Catholic and Christian. Her personal relationship with Jesus Christ simply let his loving light shine through. Her mission in life was to pray for her beloved family to insure that all their dreams come true.
She will be missed and forever loved by her family that includes daughter Susan Jacobe of Austin, daughter Barbara Neely, son- in- law Lynd “Bud” Neely, their son Zach Neely of Brenham, and their daughter Lyndsay Griffiths who resides in Houston with her husband Shane and their daughter Grace. Daughter Katie Hill, husband Cliff, and their daughter Alison Smith and her husband Shawn live in Houston.
As Gram would say, “See you later alligator,” and we would respond, “After a while crocodile.”
Arrangements under the direction of Forest Park Lawndale Funeral Home, Houston, TX.
