"Billy" Corrotto III, brother-in-law Bobby Parks, niece Sandy Graham and Great nephew Parker Nelson, sister-in-law Helen Black, and father W.C. Corrotto Sr. and mother, Mildred.
Left to cherish her memory are her children. Her daughter Carmen Gordon, son James "Alan" Richardson and his wife Susan, daughter Barbara Parnell and her husband Kevin, grandchildren Matthew Parnell, Alexander Richardson and his wife Anna, Jett Richardson, and Lucy's dearest friend Margrit Woods.
She is survived by her younger sister Sue Parks, niece Carole Nelms and family, nieces Debbie Plum and family, Carolyn Goodner and family, Stacy Cole and family, brother-in-law Byron Black, nieces Beth Hanna and family and Becky Downen and family.
Lucy met the love of her life James "Jim" Hugh Richardson while they were attending the University of Houston. Lucy and Jim married on December 27th, 1957. Lucy was a member of Berachah Church and volunteered for the church during the 1970's. Later Lucy began working for Spring Branch Independent School District (SBISD). When her husband retired in the 1980's they invested in a business in Huntsville, Texas and relocated to Huntsville. Lucy and Jim sold the business and returned to Houston to be with family in the summer of 1985. Lucy returned to SBISD part time, until the 2020 COVID Pandemic, and then she became a full time employee until retiring in February 2022.
As a young wife and mother she raised three children, was a talented seamstress, and a renowned baker. For every celebration Lucy would bake family and friends their favorite pie. She loved to tend to her flowerbeds, always planting flowers that would attract butterflies and hummingbirds. Being from the "greatest generation", she embodied its values and frugalness and environmental consciousness. Lucy also found joy partaking in casino trips.
All would say Lucy was a life force, admired for her strength, while meeting life's losses and challenges. The day the Lord called her, she had exercised, gone grocery shopping and was ready to prepare a meal. Her family and friends will deeply miss her.
A memorial service for Lucy will be held Sunday, April 24, 2022 at 2:00 PM at Waltrip Funeral Directors, 1415 Campbell Road, Houston, Texas.
