Maria I. Dominguez

With profound sadness and deep love, we announce the passing of Maria Isabel Dominguez, who left this world on October 13, 2025, at the age of 89. Born in the beautiful town of San Miguel El Alto, Jalisco, Mexico, Maria Isabel was the daughter of Ezequiel Jimenez and Maria de Jesus Mena. She was one of four girls.

In 1952, she married Eugenio Franco Romo, and together they were blessed with five children: Maria De Lourdes Franco †, Teodoro Franco, Gloria Franco †, Delia Franco, and Maria de Jesus Franco †. Though she had to endure the heartbreaking loss of three of her children in her life-time, Maria Isabel carried their memories with grace and unwavering strength.

In 1974, she bravely journeyed to the United States with her son, seeking a better life. After being widowed, she found companionship again in Margarito Dominguez, whom she married in 1980. Their years together were filled with travel, laughter, and memorable moments with grandchildren, until his passing in 2005.

Maria Isabel is survived by her children, Teodoro Franco (Mary Flores) and Delia Franco (Abraham Ramirez), her 14 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and two sisters, Emma Sanchez and Tita. For the past 11 years, she was lovingly cared for by her son Teodoro Franco and daughter-in-law Mary Flores, who remained by her side until her final breath. Their dedication and love brought her comfort and peace in her final years.

Maria Isabel will be remembered for her quiet strength, her deep faith, and her impeccable sewing and crocheting skills. Her life was a testament to perseverance, love, and the enduring power of faith.

A memorial service will be held at Forest Park Lawndale Funeral Home on October 19, 2025, at 5:00 PM, followed by a rosary at 7:00 PM. A Mass of Catholic Burial will take place at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church at 10:30 AM, followed by interment at Forest Park Lawndale.

Her spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
