Maria Rodriguez

Maria de Jesus Rodriguez, 93, was granted her angel wings on October 27th, 2016 in Houston, Texas. She was born November 22nd, 1924 in Salinas Victoria, Mexico. Maria was born to Colonel Arturo Trevino Guzman and Francisca Villarreal Trevino. She was one of eight children. Maria de Jesus married the love of her life and best friend Teoflio (Joe) Rodriguez. They were married for 56 years and were blessed with two wonderful children. She battled Alzheimer’s Disease for over fifteen years with grace. Her love for music, family, and making memories were a few things that did not fail in her memory.

She is proceeded by her parents; her son James; six of her siblings and other loved ones. She is survived by two of her siblings Lilia and Arturo Trevino; husband, Teofilo (Joe) Rodriguez; daughter and son in law Norma L. and Jid E. Velasquez; granddaughter and spouse, Lori M. and Dustin R. Dorflinger; one great-granddaughter Natalia A. Dorflinger; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members.Thank you to all who were part of our journey. May Maria de Jesus rest in peace and her memory never be forgotten.

A visitation is scheduled to take place at Forest Park Lawndale Funeral Home 6900 Lawndale Street, Houston, TX 77023 on Wednesday, November 2nd, from 11:00-12:00pm. Funeral service and burial with follow at 12:00pm-1:00pm.
