

Marlyn was born to Blake and Ivy Fisher on June 10, 1932 in East St Louis, MO. She graduated from Lamar High school in 1950 and attended the University of Houston for two years before joining Prudential Insurance as a secretary. She married Alfred Davey in 1953 and began raising a family of four children. Alf and Marlyn remained married until his death in 2001. In 2012, she was remarried to her high school sweetheart,Tom Henning, and remained married until his passing in 2018.
Marlyn worked for Houston Jewelry for 15 years after her children left home until her retirement in 1995 where she was a valued member of the Credit Department. She was actively involved in the upbringing of her children as a Cub Scout den mother and Girl Scout leader in addition to PTA and room mother roles.
Marlyn is survived by her four children and their spouses: Chris and spouse Kay, Glenn and spouse Carrie, Terry, and Wayne and spouse Karen. She also leaves behind twelve grandchildren: Robin, Suzanne, Matt, Jeff, Michelle, Dominique, Wyatt, Wayne, Christina, Chelsea, Whitney, and Dylan as well as her ten great grandchildren Tate, Rhys, Kylie, Easton, Brinley, Leah, Sean, Evelyn, Ellie, and Avery. She is also survived by her brother Blake, his spouse Carolyn, and their five children and grandchildren. She loved her family deeply, and they are all mourning her loss.
A graveside ceremony is scheduled for Saturday, March 27th at 10:00 am at Forest Park Lawndale cemetery with a viewing starting at 9:00 am. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in her name to the American Cancer Society to help fund their fight against colon cancer. The family would also strongly encourage early screening for colon cancer.
