Maurice McCoy Jr.

Maurice McCoy, Jr was born August 15, 1966 in Houston, Texas to the late Maurice McCoy, Sr and Leola Armington. He was known for his hilarious sense of humor and cracking jokes with everyone he came in contact with. Along with his infectious laugh and demeanor, he would pour out nuggets of wisdom when he got in “preaching” mode. Maurice also loved to travel and many knew he would get on the road whenever he could. God began speaking to him at an early age and he accepted Christ as His Lord and Savior. He attended Bella Vista Missionary Baptist Church along with his family for many years. He attended Houston public schools as well.   Maurice had 6 children: Bryant McCoy, Maurice Anthony McCoy, Jada McCoy, Gabriel Pearson, Monet Pearson, and Jonathan McCoy. He leaves to mourn his wife, Chelsia McCoy; mother, Leola McCoy, 3 sisters: Alicia Renee Edwards (McCoy), Erica Johnson (McCoy), Lakita Plattenberg (McCoy), and 2 brothers: Christopher McCoy and Marcus McCoy; 1 granddaughter: Bryonne McCoy and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.   Maurice’s race ended on September 14, 2016, however, his fire and passion for Jesus Christ and his deep love for his family and friends never died. Even in the most challenging moments, he had a joke to share or a witty comeback which left you bowled over with laughter. He was deeply loved and is already by many. The heavenly host of angels has gained another beautiful spirit who will dance, rejoice and celebrate his greatest reward: Well done, thy good and faithful servant!
