Melvin Ray Schultz, 87, passed away Friday, May 7, 2010, peacefully at his home after a brief illness. He was born on December 15, 1922 in Wharton, Texas. Melvin served in the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II. He retired from the Shell Refinery after working 41 years. He is survived by his wife of 63 years Anita Schultz, daughter Carolyn Hill and her husband Donnie, sons; Michael Schultz and his wife Rebecca, and Mark Schultz and his wife Daryle, grandchildren; Alan Hill and his wife Christi, Lisa Hoffpauir and his wife Bryan, Katherine Barker and her husband Doug and Brian Schultz, great grandchildren; Connor Hill and Evan Hoffpauir. The family will receive friends Sunday, May 9, 2010, 5pm at the Forest Park Lawndale Funeral Home. Funeral service is scheduled Monday 11am at the Evangelical Lutheran Church of the Redeemer, 5700 Lawndale Ave., and the Rev. Grant W. Housewright officiating. Interment Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family request donation is made to Evangelical Lutheran Church or the charity of their choice.
