Michael Herbert Allen, born September 7, 1942, died at home on December 22, 2014. He was predeceased by his parents, Herbert and Helen Daniels Allen, and his brother, David Daniels Allen. He is survived by his former wife and the love of his life, Patrice Melville Allen, his sister, Anne Allen Symonds and her husband Jonathan Taft Symonds, his nieces and nephews, Gwendolyn Allen Parker, David Daniels Allen Jr., Allen Gardiner Symonds, Jonathon Taft Symonds II, David Brandreth Symonds, Emily Gibbons Allen Radstrom and Herbert Allen II. Mike attended St. John’s School, Lamar and the University of Texas where he was a member of Kappa Sigma. He was a member of River Oaks Country Club. The highlight of Mike’s business career was establishing an international distributing system for Hallen, the family company which marketed the Screwpull, designed by his father.
