

James Michael “Mike” Brady, age 83, passed away on 9 October 2025 in Fort Worth, Texas. Mike was born in San Antonio, where he attended Central Catholic HS and St Mary’s University, earning a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and a commission as a 2nd Lt. the US Army.
Mike enjoyed fishing, hiking, and traveling, and was active in the Boy Scouts, earning the rank of Eagle Scout. He was Valedictorian of his high school class and Salutatorian of his Accounting class at St Mary’s. He served his country in Vietnam from 1965-1966 as an artillery officer, retiring as a Captain. On returning home, Mike obtained a position with Exxon Mobile in Houston, where he worked for 33 years in various capacities, including accounting, finance, land management, and real estate with Friendswood Development Corp., an Exxon subsidiary.
Mike met his future wife Patsy on a blind date. The Brady’s raised four children and were active parishioners at St Jerome’s Catholic Church. Mike served as Head Coach of his daughters’ youth soccer teams and as an Assistant Scout Master of Troop 478. Later, Mike served on the Board of Directors for The Brookwood Community in Brookshire, a community serving adults with disabilities. Upon retirement, Mike and Patsy moved to Lake Granbury.
Mike was preceded in death by his parents, Margaret “Moppy” (Blackaller) and Frank W. Brady of San Antonio and his daughter, Kelly Marie Brady, a resident of The Brookwood Community.
He is survived by his wife, Patsy (Zorn), children Kimberly (Barb) and husband Mark of Aledo, TX; Deacon Kevin Brady and wife Cynthia of Madison, AL; and Kristin (Ford) and husband Russell of Weatherford, TX; brother Dennis Brady of Spring Branch, TX; grandchildren Tyler Barb and wife Lauren of Seattle, WA, Sydney (Barb) and husband Matthew Lepak of Oklahoma City, OK, US Navy PO3 Sean Michael Brady and wife Danni (Racine) of Camp Lejune, NC, Colton Bryan of Oklahoma City, Melody Brady of Mobile, AL, US Army PFC Carter James Bryan of Fort Stewart, GA, and Elizabeth Brady of Hattiesburg, MS; great grandchildren Leo Michael Brady and Johnnie Kay Brady; nephews Brian Brisbin and wife Cassandra of Houston, Martin Brisbin and wife Christy of Houston, and Ryan Brady and wife Claire of Dallas; and niece Shannon (Johnson) and husband Eric of Austin; and numerous cousins, including Sr Carolyn Kosub, icm of Penitas, TX.
