On September 11, 2020, heaven gained an angel. The abrupt passing of Mitchell Joseph Briggs Jr. (MJ) has left many close friends and family alike with a hole in their hearts from this devastating loss.
Mitchell Joseph ‘MJ’ Briggs Jr. was born June 25, 1975 in Kansas City, Kansas to Mitchell and Rhonda Briggs, the eldest of two children. He grew up a resident of Spring Branch alongside his sister Jessica and a graduate of Springwoods High School.
He showed great perseverance throughout his life, an employee of Seidel’s for over 20 years. Mitch married Stephanie Webber in 1997, with whom he shares his two sons, Mitchell J. Briggs III, and Justin Webber, and blessed with 6 grandchildren.
Mitch is preceded in death by his father, Mitchell Joseph Briggs Sr., his uncle, his grandfather and great grandfather, his grandmother and his nephew. He is survived by his sons; Mitchell (MJ) Joseph Briggs III, Justin Webber, his wife and best friend Stephanie, his mother Rhonda, his sister Jessica. He will forever be remembered by his numerous nieces, nephews and extended family and dear friends.
Mitch was known for his great passion of football, an avid Houston Texans fan. But to many more it was his witty humor, source of comfort, guidance or advice that will be dearly missed. Mitch will mostly be remembered for his influence as a son, bother, husband, father and friend. As we mourn the loss Mitchell, we must remember not to take this time to be sad, but to take the time to look upon our memories of him with happiness and celebrate the blessing of having him enter each and every one of our lives. The family encourages all to wear “Houston Texans” gear.
A Celebration of Life Service in memory of Mitchell (MJ) Joseph Briggs II will be held on Saturday, September 19, 2020 at from 2:00 pm until 6pm at Waltrip Funeral Directors. Sharing of memories by family and friends will begin at 4:00 p.m.
