Nathaniel Alfred Hawkins was born on February 8, 1950 and passed away on January 31, 2021 and is under the care of Carl Barnes Funeral Home.
Visitation will be held on February 13, 2021 at 11:30 am at Carl Barnes Funeral Home, 746 W 22nd Street, Houston, TX. Funeral Service will be held on February 13, 2021 at 12:30 pm. Committal Service will be held on February 13, 2021 at 2:30 pm at Houston Memorial Gardens, 2426 Cullen Boulevard, Pearland, TX.

Nate you are truly going to be missed. You were my best friend, and confident. I'm going to miss our talks. There wasn't a week that went by that we didn't talk at least 2 or 3 times. Our hearts grieve with you in the loss of your "gentle giant" Nathaniel. He seemed to inherit the best from Big Mama and Poppi in the molding of his character! We're so glad to know that God blessed him with wonderful gifts, and that he made you all so proud!!! As he scored the "final goal", his touchdown dance was sweeter than any on earth! Can't you hear the angelic cheerleaders shouting Hallelujah, Glory to God?!!

I live across the house of Mr. Nat in Pearland. I will miss him so much because every time I go out of the house and he is there working on something, I made sure that I will call his name and greet him and wave at him and no matter how busy he is, he will always ask me how I’m doing. In the past years I have to travel to California for work and I reached out to him and asked a favor to keep an eye on my family and he gave an assurance that he will. He looks very serious but really approachable and kind. My wife and I were saddened when we heard about his passing.
