Nelda Estrada

She was born in Mission, TX on May 1, 1957 to Hector and Enriqueta Villarreal. When Nelda was a year old, she welcomed her younger brother, Hector, into their home; followed by her younger sister, Sandra, three years later. In May of 1977, she married the love of her life, Ruben Estrada, whom she was able to celebrate forty three anniversaries with. They had four children during the first nine years of their marriage; Andrew, Melinda, Daniel, and Stephanie. Her greatest joy was her nine grandchildren; Julian, Liliana, Dorian, Daniel, Nevaeh, Oscar, Elora, Isabella, and Leonardo.

Nelda had a passion for gardening, home remodeling, real estate, and insurance sales. She enjoyed spending her leisure time playing bingo and visiting with family. Before she became ill, she could often be seen sitting in the bleachers supporting family members, especially her grandchildren, during sporting and school events.

In January of 2019, Nelda was a rare recipient and strong survivor of a double organ transplant (heart and liver). She was a fighter who lived an additional three years; allowing her to witness her daughters get married, and the birth of three additional grandchildren.

Nelda is preceded in death by her father Hector, and youngest sister Juanita.

Visitation will be held at Earthman Resthaven Funeral home and Cemetery at 13102 North Fwy, Houston, TX 77060 on Friday, November 18, 2022 from 4:00pm to 8:00pm with the rosary starting at 7:00pm.

Her funeral service is to be held at the Earthman Resthaven Funeral Home and Cemetery, on Saturday, November 19, 2022 at 10:00am.
