Noel F. McCain

Noel Fletcher McCain, age 79, passed on December 20, 2016 at Memorial Hermann Northeast Medical Center in Houston surrounded by family. He was born February 2, 1937 in Nederland, Texas. He is preceded in death by mother, Frances McCain, and grandmother, Ida Byrd. On July 4, 1976 he married his beloved wife Dana Sue Bishop, together they had Shannon (spouse Bridget) and Shelly. He is also survived by his grandchildren Shane, Bethany and Brynlee; his cherished fur kids include Junior and Suzy and grand-doggers Harley, Brooklynn and Trixie. Children from previous marriage: Sherry Borrelli, Kim Rankin, Kathi Baird (spouse Jeremy) and Noel Fletcher McCain, Jr. (spouse Chona); sixteen grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren. He joined the United States Air Force on August 23, 1957; during his enlistment he also served in the United States Army, then later was assigned to the United States Department of Defense. Noel was proud to be a Vietnam Veteran. He was honorably discharged on January 9, 1970. His service greatly influenced the wonderful man that he became. Noel dearly loved his family and would go above and beyond; from cooking pancakes on Easter mornings with the Redeemer Lutheran Brotherhood, never missing a game from little league to high school, participating in the ‘Daddy dance’ for recitals, teaching all of us to drive (including his sister-in-law and nieces), and fishing with his grandkids; he was always there for family. He will be remembered in many traditions by his family including listening to Alice’s Restaurant on Thanksgiving mornings.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 28, 2016 at 11:00 am at Forest Park Funeral Home, 6900 Lawndale St, Houston, TX 77023, with Pastor Grant Housewright officiating. The family will greet friends from 5:00 to 9:00 pm on Tuesday, December 27 at the Forest Park Funeral Home.
