Odin Clay, Jr., 89, passed away on December 24, 2017 in League City, Texas. He was born September 16, 1928 in Houston, Texas to Odin Edward Clay, Sr. and Bessie Elizabeth Clay. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 68 years of marriage Clara Clay; his children, Edward Clay, Matt Clay and wife Terri, Clara Dena Clay, Fred Clay and wife Diane, Dan Clay and wife Angela, John Clay and wife Sandy, Anne Clay and husband Jack, Theresa Ball and husband Tony; numerous grand and great grandchildren. More than fifty years in Professional Photography. Holder of both Master of Photography and Craftsman Photographer degrees from the Professional Photographers of America. Teacher of Color Printing to several hundred professional and amateur photographers. Teacher of basic and advanced photography to more than one thousand students in the Gitting Pro-Am School. Lecturer, demonstrator and competition judge in steady demand from both amateur and professional associations for print critique. Exhibitor with annual successful entries in the Professional Photographers of America national competition and various art society showings. Selected “Artist of the year” for 1998 by the Pasadena Chamber of Commerce Cultural Arts Committee. Writing a monthly column on Outdoor Photography for the Texas Outdoors Journal magazine for Eighteen Years. The family will receive friends on Thursday, December 28, 2017 from 5-9PM with the Recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7PM at Forest Park Lawndale Funeral Home. A funeral mass will be held on Friday, December 29, 2017 at 10AM at St. Mary of the Purification Catholic Church 3006 Rosedale, Houston, Texas. Interment will follow at Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery.
