With grateful hearts for a life well lived, we share that Patricia Davie Curry of Houston, Texas, died peacefully on Wednesday, May 6, 2026, at the age of 90. Patricia was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was deeply loved, and she will be dearly missed by all who had the joy of knowing her.
A proud third-generation Texan, Patricia was born July 31, 1935, in Houston, Texas, to Charlie Claude Davie and Wanita Stockton Davie. As a child, she moved around Texas with her family as they followed her father’s Air Force assignments, before eventually settling in Dallas. After graduating from North Dallas High School, she began studies at Southern Methodist University. In her early twenties she married, made her home in Houston, and poured her heart into raising her four children.
With determination and a love of learning, Patricia returned to college at the University of Houston and completed her degree in History in 1977. She went on to build a long and respected career in administration, eventually joining Texas Medical Center, Inc., where she began as Assistant to the President. Over the years, Patricia became Associate Vice President of Administration and served as Director of Board Relations—roles she carried out with steadiness, grace, and care for the people around her. As a representative of Texas Medical Center, Inc., she was active with Executive Women International (EWI) and later served as President of the organization. Even after retirement, Pat stayed closely connected with the EWI Past Presidents group and treasured the friendships she made there.
Patricia found joy in the everyday—she was an avid reader and gardener, a wonderful and creative cook, devoted to her cats, and a true arts enthusiast. For many years, she and her beloved husband, the late Lawrence H. Curry, Jr., shared countless special evenings at the Houston Symphony, Houston Grand Opera, Houston Ballet, and Alley Theatre, along with performances and sporting events at the University of Houston. A lifelong Democrat, Patricia also served as an Election Judge for many years and—together with Lawrence—was a familiar and caring presence in their close-knit Idylwood neighborhood. They cherished “Wine Club” with longtime friends and loved discovering local restaurants, especially the original Ninfa’s on Navigation, where they were often greeted with their favorite drink—a Ninfarita “up”—as they were escorted to their table. And those who knew Patricia well will smile remembering that she also enjoyed a Manhattan (or two).
Patricia fell in love with the high desert after years of summer camping with her family throughout America’s Southwest. She and Lawrence enjoyed frequent trips to San Antonio, Austin, Greenville, S.C., and their all-time favorite—Santa Fe, New Mexico. Together, they collected Southwestern décor and art, and Patricia became well known for her signature “Santa Fe look,” which reflected her spirit and sense of style.
Patricia was preceded in death by her parents and by her devoted husband of 33 years, Lawrence. She also endured the heartbreaking loss of two adult sons, Thomas Andrew Fulton (2016) and Richard Alan Fulton (April 2025). She is survived by her daughter, Jean Davie Hendrix (Jay); her son, Robert Patrick Fulton (Estela); and her daughter-in-law, Lisa Fulton; as well as three stepsons, Lawrence Curry III, Theodore Curry (Amy), and Andrew Curry (Jennifer), and their families. Her grandchildren include Nick Hendrix (Anne), Camille Hendrix, Eleanor and Edith Fulton, Jon Fulton (Sophie), David Fulton, Elizabeth Fulton, and Christopher Fulton. She was also blessed with two great-grandchildren, Henry and Jane Hendrix.
The family extends heartfelt thanks to the devoted staff of ComForCare in Bellaire for their kindness, compassion, and loving support during Patricia’s (and Lawrence’s) last years and days.
A Celebration of Life is tentatively planned for late May. In true Patricia fashion, she requested that a cocktail party be held in her honor, and the family will share additional details as plans are finalized. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the American Heart Association in her honor.
