On January 20, 2026, Paul Charles Peterson left this earthly world and went to join his Heavenly Father. Paul was born December 24, 1949, and is survived by his loving wife Sandy, his sister Jane Claunch, his brother-in-laws Dan Ross and Alan Claunch, his sister-in-law Shirlyn Ross, and other nieces and nephews. Paul also had a binding love with his sweet dog Onyx.
Paul obtained a Bachelor’s Degree at the University of Houston and was very proud of this accomplishment. He then went to work for Exxon Chemical as a transportation Director for rail lines throughout the country. Upon retirement he wanted to volunteer and did so at Sagemont Church, Pasadena Dog Shelter, Hobby Airport, and finally at the League City Police Department.
During his earlier years, Paul got his pilot’s license, and on the weekend he would fly around this area with Sandy or other friends.
As time went on Paul’s health and mobility became issues and made volunteering almost impossible. During these hard times, Paul’s love for God, church and family remained strong. His faith remained solid, and he often talked about his other loves, flying and enjoying good foods.
We will truly miss Paul, his direct approach and honesty, and particularly his good heart. Always helping others and giving freely are reminders from Paul. He was fond of giving small gifts to his friends and family. If Paul could, I know he would tell us how wonderful it is to be rid of all his health issues. He loves his new home in Heaven.
A visitation will be held at Forest Park Lawndale Funeral Home, located at 6900 Lawndale Street, Houston, TX 77023, on January 27, 2026, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am.
The funeral service will follow at the same location on January 27, 2026, from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm.
