Renee Niemann Evans was born February 23, 1945 in Houston, Texas to Bert Niemann and Mary Leola (Lee) Niemann (Muhl), who both predeceased her. Surrounded by family, she peacefully left this life on Saturday, March 28, 2020.
Renee attended her early school years at Christ the King until high school when she enrolled in and graduated from St. Pius X in Houston, Texas.
Renee was a very hard worker and always committed to any task assigned to her. She was employed for much of her career as an accountant and controller with her focus being in the hospitality and restaurant industries.
In her later life, she channeled her love of food and cooking into her own catering business, “Catering by Renee”.
Renee’s sense of humor, quick wit, huge heart, infectious laugh, delicious cooking, and love of ALL things related to the Houston Texans, Astros, and Rockets will be greatly missed!
She is survived by her spouse, Arthur R. Evans, Jr., Son Ernest Martin, Son Dennis Martin (Deona), Daughter Christine Gellman (Daniel), Daughter Cynthia Hatcher, Son Alan Martin, Sister Martha McAndrew, and her best friend of 67 years, Doris Edwards.
Renee was most proud to be known as “Darlin” to her grandchildren – Nicholas Martin, Denise Blakeburn, Alexandra Martin, Zachary Martin, Andrew Martinez, Brandon Harp, and Kaylee Harp, as well as to her great-grandchildren – Jade, Keira, Contessa, London, Logan, Ethan, Lillie, Joseph, Ava, and Charli. She genuinely adored being a Darlin as much as her family adored her.
Due to ongoing current events, the service for Renee Evans will be private.
