Robert David Matthews

It is with profound sadness that the family of Robert Matthews announce his passing on March 2, 2023 at the age of 55. Robert was a loving father, son, and brother. Robert was an avid music lover. Playing the drums was his specialty and RUSH was his favorite band. Robert had numerous interests. He loved baseball and had visited many baseball parks around the country. His passion to explore lead him to many travels, hikes, and bike rides. Robert loved playing board games with family and friends. He never missed the opportunity to visit museums. Robert’s love for space and the galaxies kept him looking up to the skies.

Robert worked a full-time job at Texaco while attending the University of St. Thomas and graduated with honors in May of 2001. He dreamed of owning his own business which came to light in 2003 with the creation of RV Mobile Lube.

Robert is preceded in death by his father, Harry Eugene Matthews, Sr.

Robert is survived by his three sons, Jacob and Zachary Matthews (mother – Wanda Matthews) and Lucas Matthews (mother – Diana Casas). He is also survived by his mother Irene Matthews; brother Harry Matthews, Jr. and wife Kelli; sister Darlene Thomas and husband John; nephews Brent Matthews and wife Molly; Daniel Matthews and wife Whitney.
