

Robert Raymond Pelzer, aged 73, passed away peacefully at his home in Pasadena, Texas on Thursday, September 7, 2023. He was born in Pasadena, Texas on September 9, 1949, to Elizabeth and Earl Pelzer. Robert started working with Sears, Roebuck & Company at an early age and later became a fabricator with Blackburn Machine & Fab. He had a great love of fishing and making his own personalized fishing tackle, and he was known for winning several fishing tournaments throughout the years. He had a strong love of nature in general and enjoyed educating others with his knowledge. He also enjoyed creating artistic pieces out of various metals such as ladybugs and spiders, wind chimes, and barbecue pits. Robert had a talent in his humor not matched by many with comedic timing to keep many loved ones engaged in laughter. He loved spending time with his partner Sandy, family, friends, and his dogs.
Preceded in death by his parents Elizabeth and Earl Pelzer, two brothers William Pelzer and John Pelzer, and one sister, Vera Pelzer. Those left to cherish his memory are his partner of over 30 years Sandy Wilson; siblings Karen Kelly; Elizabeth Quade; Dorothy Shearer; Terry Bludau; Russell Pelzer; and Ginger Derwent; daughter Connie Pelzer; son Robert “Bobby” Pelzer II; grandchildren Jake Dallas Houston; Travis Benton Sills; and Rachel Elizabeth Sills; and great-grandchildren Troy Houston; Janeva Houston; Londyn Houston; Jordan Sills; and Damian Sills; in addition to a very large extended family of nieces and nephews.
The funeral service for Robert Pelzer will be Thursday, September 14, 2023, at 10:00 am immediately followed by interment at 11:00 am at Forest Park Lawndale located at 6900 Lawndale Street, Houston, Texas. Officiating will be Pastor Richard Rhoades.
