Roberto Caballero, beloved and devoted individual, passed away on December 22, 2025, at the age of 77. Born on March 10, 1948, in Matamoros, Tamaulipas, Mexico, Roberto was the first of five sons to Roberto and Maria Mercedes Caballero. He was a dependable, faithful, and hard-working man.
In 1971, Roberto married Sherry Lynn, and together they raised three daughters. Roberto was a loyal and selfless husband and father, and his resilience and wisdom were evident in every aspect of his life. He was known for his honesty and humor, traits that endeared him to all who knew him.
Roberto had a deep love for sports, particularly baseball and football. He was a dedicated fan of the Houston Astros and enjoyed college football. His personal interests also included playing games like Mexico bingo, Loteria, and Left, Right, Center with his family, where his infectious smile and overwhelming laughter could always be heard. He was also known for being lucky in lottery scratches.
Although he was a man who kept to himself, Roberto's authenticity shone through, leaving a legacy that will live on through his children and grandchildren. He has joined his wife, Sherry Lynn and is survived by his daughters, Shannon Marshall (husband John), Misty Caballero, and Mary Faz (husband Nicolas), along with his grandchildren, Cecilia Morales (husband Eliazar), Rebecca Espinosa, Micah Marshall, Eric Vargas, Ashley Caballero, and great-grandchildren, Ezequiel Moscorro, Briselda Morales, Camila Morales, Julian Morales, and Lorenzo Espinosa, his twin brother, Francisco Caballero, and his brothers, Artemio, Reynaldo, and Miguel Caballero will continue to carry his memory in their hearts.
A visitation will be held on January 2, 2026, from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm at Earthman Resthaven, located at 13102 North Fwy, Houston, TX 77060. A Celebration of Life will follow from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm at the same venue. The committal service will be held at Earthman Resthaven Cemetery from 3:00 pm to 3:30 pm.
Pallbearers for the services will include John Marshall, Nicolas Faz, Eliazar Morales, Hugo Caballero, Micah Marshall, and Eric Vargas. Roberto's legacy of love, laughter, and loyalty will forever be cherished by those who had the privilege of knowing him.
