Sobeyda Esparza

Sobeyda Tobias Esparza passed away on July 6, 2016 from a long battle with Alzheimer's after being diagnosed in 2008. She was a native Texan, born in Edna, Texas in 1935. She was the eldest daughter of nine children born to Sebastian Tobias and Manuela Trevino.

Sobeyda was a Jefferson Davis High School graduate, Class of 1954. She married Salvador S. Esparza in 1958 and they had five children. Sobeyda was a devoted wife and mother spending countless hours raising her children and volunteering at schools and churches. She was a beautiful, caring, compassionate person who opened her heart and home to anyone and everyone without reservation.

Sobeyda is preceded in death by her husband Salvador S. Esparza, and survived by her children, Seleste Esparza, Rene Esparza and wife Bianca, Angela Canady and husband Scott, Natalie Ramirez, and Ann Marie Vazquez and husband Tony; and grandchildren, Marisa and Gabriel Vazquez, Miguel and Isabel Esparza, Gillian and Aidan Ramirez, and Zachary and Hannah Canady.

The family welcomes you to wear purple, Sobeyda’s favorite color, in her honor at her services. Purple also represents Alzheimer's Disease and the family will be participating this fall in the 2016 Walk to End Alzheimer's in Sobeyda's honor and appreciate any donations in lieu of flowers to:
