

Sotero was born in Houston, TX, and from a young age, he embodied a spirit of determination, generosity, and resilience. Spending his early years in San Antonio he attended John Jay and Lanier High School. Went undefeated with the Tornados football team his last 2 years before moving on to college. After graduating from the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor he became a counselor for a short while. It wasn’t until later he built a respected career in the communications industry with Southwestern Bell. After 3 decades he would eventually go on to retire from what’s known today as AT&T. Not just only being recognized for his skill and work ethic but for his unwavering integrity. He was a self-made man who took pride in his work and provided for those he loved. He was a loving husband and father, a devoted grandfather, a loyal brother and friend who brought light and laughter into every room.
Sotero is survived by his wife, Esther Lucio; son and spouse Robert and Anna Lucio; daughter and spouse Sarah and Juan Hernandez; grandchildren Maya Ramirez, Jayson Yanez, Victoria Yanez, Frances Yanez and Giovanni Lucio. --. Sotero will be remembered for his generosity, his ambition, and his heart of gold. The kind of man who would give the shirt off his back without hesitation.
