Susie Salgado Gonzales

With profound love and sorrow, we announce the passing of Susie Salgado Gonzales, a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and cherished member of her community. Susie entered eternal rest on December 4, 2025, at the age of 77.

From a young age, Susie embodied a remarkable spirit of dedication and service. At just 17 years old, she began her career at NASA, where she worked for 27 years with passion and excellence. Following her retirement, she continued her professional journey with Continental Airlines, contributing another 17 years of service. Her intelligence, work ethic, and kindness left a lasting impression on all who had the privilege of working alongside her.

Beyond her career, Susie was a pillar of her community. She gave generously of her time and talents, always ready to lend a helping hand and inspire others with her compassion. She was deeply loved by all who knew her. She and her husband shared countless happy trips to the casinos, creating memories that will be treasured forever. At home, Susie’s favorite pastimes included baking, crafts, and decorating, each a reflection of her love for family and her gift for making every space feel warm and welcoming.

Susie’s greatest joy was her family. She shared 54 wonderful years of marriage with her beloved husband, Louis Gonzales, and together they raised three children: Veronica Hamrock (married to Breck Hamrock), Jacqueline Rayon (married to Richard Rayon), and Victor Gonzales. She was a proud grandmother to Savannah Hickman (married to Drew Hickman), Breck Hamrock Jr., and Bryton Hamrock. Susie treasured every moment spent with her family, and her love for them was boundless.

Her legacy is one of love, faith, and service. Susie will be remembered for her warm heart, her unwavering devotion to her Catholic faith, and her lifelong commitment to her family and community. Her love, memories, and wisdom will forever live on, guiding and uplifting all whose lives she touched.

A visitation will be held at Forest Park Lawndale Funeral Home, located at 6900 Lawndale Street, Houston, TX 77023, on December 12, 2025, from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm.

The funeral mass is scheduled for December 13, 2025, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at an external service location, 7250 Harrisburg Blvd, Houston, TX 77011.

A committal service will follow on December 13, 2025, from 12:00 pm to 12:45 pm at Forest Park Lawndale Funeral Home, 6900 Lawndale Street, Houston, TX 77023.
