Theodore David Marchese

Theodore David Marchese (Bud to Family, Ted to Others) passed away Sunday, February 9, 2025. He was a son, brother, husband, father, grandpa, great grandpa, uncle, deacon and friend to many. He was usually a man of few words, but had his moments.

He was born to parents, Sam and Mary Marchese on January 16,1932 in Houston, TX. He had

2 other siblings, Lena Owen and Vito Marchese.

Ted attended Catholic School until High School. He then went to Reagan High School and graduated. He was drafted into the army and served during the Korean war. After being honorably discharged, he returned to the US and married Sylvia Ann Walden on May 1, 1954. They were married for 68 years until Sylvia's death on July 22, 2022.

Ted and Sylvia had 2 Children, son, David and daughter, Cathy.

He worked at Browning-Ferris until 1960 as a diesel mechanic. In November 1960, he began work at mustang Tractor and Equipment as a tractor mechanic until his retirement in 1997. He was the sole provider for the family when David and Cathy were young. He became a deacon at Woodsdale Baptist Church and continued to serve as deacon when he and Sylvia joined Rittenhouse Baptist church and Memorial Baptist Church years later. He served as deacon, teacher and handyman helper. He worked tirelessly to help widows and others in the church with home repairs, etc. He also worked to help others through the food pantry, Helping hands, men's prayer breakfast, visitation and other church events. Ted was very devoted to his family and God. He and Sylvia spent many days taking other church members to doctor appointments, taking them food or visiting them in the hospital.

He also loved to sing in the church choir until the beginning of the pandemic and had to quit.

Ted was grandpa to 3 boys, Daniel Marchese, Stephen Marchese and Brandon Hacker. In his later years, he became great grandpa to Nalani and Chase Marchese and Wyatt and Hudson Hacker.

He is predeceased by his wife, Sylvia, parents, Sam and Mary Marchese and his siblings Lena Owen and Vito Marchese.

He is survived by his children, son, David Marchese (Glenda), daughter Cathy Hacker (Milton), grandsons, Daniel Marchese (Ashley), Stephen Marchese (Charlotte) and Brandon Hacker (Rachel). He is also survived by his great grandchildren Nalani and Chase Marchese and Wyatt and Hudson Hacker and many Family and friends.
