Obituary of Ursula Anna Bingham

Heights Funeral Home

Ursula Anna Bingham, age 91, of Houston, Texas passed away on Friday, March 17, 2023. Ursula was born in Essen, Germany to the late Johann Goller and Luise Wienkoetter. Her early youth was spent in relative peace before the years of World War II. In the years following, she would move to the United States and start a family with the late James ‘Jimmy’ Stubler. They had three children together. Ursula worked for Unisys for many years and in her free time enjoyed traveling, crocheting, and penning letters to her friends abroad. She was an avid tchotchke collector and enjoyed her fair share of Christkindlesmarkts. The name Ursula, derived from the Latin ‘Ursa’, means little she-bear. As a child, she was affectionately nicknamed Ulla which means strong willed or determined. Ulla is survived by her daughters, Sylvia ‘Syl’ Stubler and Susanna ‘Sue Sue’ Bentrim; her son, Scott ‘Potser’ Stubler; her grandchildren Brandon Bentrim, Rebecca Gordon, Alexander Bentrim, Samantha Bentrim, Augustine Stubler, and Jackson Stubler; and her great-grandchildren Katrina Bentrim, Josephine Bentrim, Claudia Bentrim, Jack Gordon, and Max Gordon. Regardless of the name you knew her by: Ursula, Ulla, Bear, Omi, or otherwise; we all love our strong willed she-bear and were blessed to know her in this life. She will be remembered as a strong and sharp-witted woman who loved her family ardently. Her family will gather to scatter her ashes at a later date. Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at for the Bingham family.
