

Victoria Herrera, 88, of Houston, Texas, entered eternal rest on May 30, 2025. Born on August 26, 1936, in Cottage Grove to Jose and Maria Herrera, she was one of nine siblings and grew up in a close-knit family.
Victoria was a woman ahead of her time, exemplifying determination and compassion throughout her life. She earned a degree in Business Administration from the University of Houston, balancing evening classes with a full-time job; a testament to her resilience and commitment to growth. For over 20 years, she served with distinction at the National Labor Relations Board, where she passionately advocated for the underdog, representing workers facing labor disputes with integrity and resolve. Her ethical, witty, and kind nature earned her the respect of colleagues and the gratitude of those she championed.
A competitive and family-oriented individual, Victoria found joy in simple pleasures. She loved reading, swimming, tennis, attending movies, and traveling; passions that enriched her life and inspired those around her. A devoted sports enthusiast, she cheered for the Houston Oilers, Pittsburgh Steelers, and Houston Astros, often sharing her enthusiasm with family and friends. Above all, her deep devotion to family defined her, as she nurtured and supported her loved ones with unwavering care.
Victoria is survived by her sister, Margarita Herrera, and her extended family, who will forever cherish her legacy of kindness, humor, and dedication. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jose and Maria Herrera, and seven siblings; Paul, Herlinda, Tillie, Reynaldo, Carolina, Joe, and Rachel.
A Visitation will be held June 14, 2025 at 12:30 pm with A funeral service to follow on June 14, 2025, at 1:00 pm at Forest Park Lawndale Funeral Home and Cemetery in Houston, Texas.
Victoria’s life was a profound example of grace, advocacy, and familial devotion. Her memory will endure in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
