Virginia Potts “Ginny” Zuppann was born in Springfield, Missouri on July 4, 1930. Her life can only be described as extraordinary. She lovingly cared for her four children and husband as a military wife. As a second act to her life, she graduated from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary and began her new career as a Bible teacher, discipler and prayer group leader. Her highest ambition was that all would know the love of Jesus Christ and the freedom His love brings. She was welcomed into Heaven at 8:30 a.m. on January 8, 2019 while the hymn Amazing Grace played. She was preceded in death by her husband, Col. Charles William Zuppann, and son, John Zuppann. She is survived by her son, Charles Zuppann, her daughters, Cynthia Chai and Carolyn Zuppann, and her many grand and great-grandchildren.
A celebration of Ginny's life was held from 6:30-8:30 p.m. on Friday, January 11, at St. Mark Lutheran Church, 1515 Hillendahl Blvd. in Houston, and where funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, January 12. She was interred with her husband at Houston National Cemetery at a later date.
