His life revolved around work, church and his family, caring for parents, supporting his children and grandchildren through FHA and FFA events, speech tournaments, little league baseball, high school and collegiate football, band concerts, piano recitals and swim meets, among others. He loved fishing, crabbing, bingo, dominoes, gambling and Houston's sports teams. Walter and Maurice loved to travel and took many wonderful vacations from Hawaii to Madeira, Portugal and numerous destinations in between, often with one or more of their children or grandchildren. He was a founding member of St. Edward's Catholic Community in Spring, Texas. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and served in many capacities.
