Winston Scott

Winston Murray Scott died Sunday, November 13, 2016 in Bellville, TX; born July 12, 1913 in Grand Blanc Michigan, predeceased by his parents, Erwin and Ione Scott, wife, Mary Elise Tomlinson Scott, sister Florence Scott Atkinson, brother, E.W. Scott, Jr..

Survivors include his children, Carolyn Scott Marks, May Elise Somerville (George), John F Scott (Susan), four grandchildren, Carol Lynne Jones (Arnold), Cheryl Anne Hooks (steve), Travis Somerville (Keturah), Shawn Somerville (Katheryn), nine great grandchildren, four great great grandchildren, two nephews Joseph and Scott Atkinson, and sister-in-law Pauna Scott.

Long time member of Park Place Methodist Church, recent member of Katy First Methodist Church, currently member of First Methodist Church of Hempstead.

Retired from Arco-Lyondell (formerly Sinclair Oil) in 1975. Resided at Carriage Inn (Katy) from 2009 until August 2011 when he moved to Dripping Springs to live with his daughter, May Somerville; July 2013 moved to Monaville (Hempstead) TX to live with his daughter, Carolyn Marks, then moving to assisted living, The Arbors Of Briarwood, Bellville, TX., in April 2014.

Winston was an excellent carpenter and cabinetmaker, from constructing a large addition to the family home to creating end tables, a large chest of drawers, and numerous other beautiful pieces of woodwork/furniture. He lovingly cared for his wife from the time he took early retirement until her death thirty years later from the ravages of multiple sclerosis. They are now reunited and dancing with the angels.

Services under the auspices of Forest Park Lawndale Funeral Home, and burial at the family gravesite at Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery.
