

Woodrow Ragston Jr. was born on January 19, 1952 to the late Woodrow Sr. and Jessie Mae Wiley Ragston in Houston, Texas. He was one of five children. Woodrow was born and raised in the Studewood Houston Area.
Woodrow received Christ at an early age at Greater New Hope Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Pastor Herman Price. He continued his Christian walk at Bella Vista Baptist Church, where he served as a faithful member who truly loved the Lord. In his serving he was an active Deacon, Sunday School Teacher, Brotherhood member and a member of the Usher Board, until the Lord called him home.
He graduated from Booker T. Washington High School and after graduation he worked at Schlumberger and the City of Houston. Woodrow had many skills and talents he enjoyed working with his hands and seeing the evidence of his hard work. He did many unique jobs such as painting, sheetrock, flooring etc.
Woodrow married the Love of his Life Geraldine. They married on August 28, 1976. They enjoyed road trips together and shopping, but he truly loved shopping. With his many skills and talents they worked very well together doing home improvement projects.
After a courageous six months battle with cancer Woodrow passed away peacefully at the Houston Hospice.
Woodrow will forever be remembered by his loving wife Geraldine of 43 years, his loving sisters Jessie Scott and Sharon Mitchell. He leaves Brother – in – Laws and Sister – In – Laws Willie Goston, Charles and Edith Gill, Calvin and Daisy Dixon, John and Valley Dickerson, and Margaret Goston. Also he leaves to cherish his memory a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other loving relatives.
