CAROLYN BELLE HOLMAN BENSON April 8, 1938 – February 16, 2015 Carolyn H. Benson, 76, passed away on Monday evening, February 16, 2015, in Chattanooga, TN. She was preceded in death by her parents, Hallie C. and Dorothy Baugh Holman, and 2 sisters, Marilyn Harsh and Barbara Juencke. Mrs. Benson is survived by her loving husband of 38 years, Vernon Benson; 2 sons, Curtis and wife Julie Wade of Huntsville, and Mark and wife Karla Wade of New Hope; 2 step-daughters, Bobbie King and husband John of Huntsville, and Debra Bradford and husband Bob of North Carolina; her brother, James Holman of Utah; her sister, Halene Kesler of Kansas; 6 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren; a host of nieces and nephews, and many other friends. Carolyn loved to crochet and has lots of beautiful pieces, especially the Last Supper work that adorns her den wall. She was a voracious reader and probably one of the world’s best crossword puzzle enthusiasts. She made numerous friends and memories while working in the cafeteria at Chaffee School for many years. Carolyn Benson was dearly loved and will be greatly missed! You may visit with the family at Valhalla Funeral Home on Saturday, February 21, 2015 from 12:00 Noon until 2:00 PM. There will be a funeral service conducted by Bro. Robert Sharp in Valhalla’s chapel commencing at 2:00 PM. The interment will immediately follow in Valhalla Memory Gardens.
