

Dennis lived and attended school in Bridgeville, DE until he enlisted in the Army during the Vietnam War in 1969. Dennis first arrived in Huntsville to attend the Army schoolhouse at Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville, as a student there he met Pamela Turner. Dennis transferred to Alaska from Alabama to serve at a forward bases protecting the northern approaches from strategic bombing from Soviet Union. He continued corresponding with Pam during his assignment in Alaska. Dennis returned to Alabama to serve at Redstone Arsenal as an instructor. Dennis and Pam rekindled their relationship and got married on November 8, 1971, after Dennis left the Army. Pam and Dennis returned to Delaware to establish a home and family. Chris was born in 1972, and Eric was born in 1975.
Dennis returned to Huntsville in pursuit of new job opportunities, with his family, and settled in West Huntsville in 1977. Dennis was employed at Reisz (pronounced “reese”) Engineering where he helped to build a prototype Greenhouse which used excess heat from the Nuclear Reactor to maintain a climate friendly to plant growth. Dennis began working with Computer Science Corporation (CSC) in 1982at Marshall Space Flight Center (MSFC) on a project to centralize control of the environments of specially designed labs used by National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA). Dennis transferred with CSC to Miami, FL as a project manager to finalize the installation of data systems on the Miami Metrorail public transit system in 1983. In 1989, Dennis would work at other various locations throughout the Southeast for CSC, before returning to work at MSFC as an operator on the very environmental control system which he installed for CSC in 1982. Dennis remained an operator at MSFC for the remaining years before retiring in 2017.
Dennis is preceded in death by his Mother Jeanette in 2005 and Father Oscar in 2011.
Dennis leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife of 53 years; Pam, 2 sons; Chris (Natalie) and Eric (Brooke), 7 grandchildren; Beth, Kayla, Austin, Rachel, Luke, Samuel, and Jack, 6 great grandchildren; Addison, McKinley, Brystal, Brody, Blane and Bash. Dennis will be missed by his family and all who knew him. Dennis attended The Church on the Hill where he was active in several ministries.

Visitation for Dennis will be held Friday, February 28, 2025, from 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM at Valhalla Funeral Home & Memory Gardens, 698 Winchester Rd NE, Huntsville, Alabama 35811 in our Celebration Chapel. Following the visitation there will be a graveside service with Military Honors to begin at 1:00 PM at Valhalla Memory Gardens in our Chapel Garden.
