

Fred Donald Wells, born on April 29, 1942, passed away on December 5, 2025, at the age of 83. Fred was a resident of Huntsville, Alabama.
Fred was married to his beloved wife, Mary Wells, with whom he shared nearly 65 years of marriage. Fred helped Mary build a life together marked by devotion, shared purpose, and deep companionship. They loved traveling abroad, serving in church and missions work, and extending generosity to their family, friends, and all who crossed their path.
He began his working life in the grocery industry as a young man while attending Peabody, later becoming the owner and operator of a Pepperidge Farm distribution region.
The words that best describe Fred are faithful and generous. He was faithful in his walk with the Lord, faithful in his love for his family, and faithful in his service to his church and community. For many years, he was a devoted member of Memorial Parkway Church of Christ, now Chase Park Church of Christ, where he served with humility and commitment.
Fred is survived by his wife, Mary Wells, daughter Laurie Wells, grandchildren, Christopher and Tyler Stovall and great-grandchildren, Chandler and Alaina Stovall.
Fred was preceded in death by his parents David and Willie Wells of Lynville, TN; his brother David Wells Jr. of Lynville TN and sister Alma Morris of Nashville, TN; his daughter Melanie Wells and granddaughter Heather Stovall.
A visitation will be held on December 7, 2025, from 1:30 pm to 2:30 pm at Valhalla Funeral Home, located at 698 Winchester Road, Huntsville, Alabama. A Celebration of Life will follow at the same venue beginning at 2:30 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Chase Park Church of Christ building fund.
