James "Jim" Arthur Stanford Jr.

June 03, 1951 – December 11, 2014

James Arthur Stanford, Jr., 63, passed away peacefully at home Thursday evening December 11, 2014 surrounded by his loving family. Mr. Stanford was preceded in death by his mother, Sarah Wilson Stanford in 2004.

Mr. Stanford is survived by his father, James Arthur Stanford, Sr.; his loving wife of 14 years, Sherdian Francis Stanford; son, Justin Stanford; daughter, Serina Stanford; sister, Debbie Stanford; brother, Steve Stanford (Angie); 2 grandsons, Silas Stanford and Cillain Stanford; and 2 nephews, Sam and Jay Stanford.

“Jim” graduated Lee High School in 1969 and continued his education at Faulkner University in Huntsville. He obtained his Juris Doctorate at Jones School of Law in Montgomery in 2000. Admitted to the Alabama State Bar in 2001, Jim loved to practice law and specialized in Consumer Advocacy and considered himself the common man’s friend. He loved golf and fishing, especially with his dog “Willie” by his side. He was dearly loved and will be missed by many!

You may visit with the family at Valhalla Funeral Home on Monday, December 15, 2014, from 12:00 Noon until 2:00 pm. There will be a funeral service conducted by Pastor Mickey Johnson commencing at 2:00 pm in Valhalla’s chapel. Interment to immediately follow in Valhalla Memory Gardens.
