Kenneth J. Bonds, Jr., 79, passed away Sunday, March 1, 2015 at his residence in Huntsville. He was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth J. and Birdie Fuller Bonds, Sr., and his grandson, Michael Anderson.
Survivors include his loving daughter, Debby Bonds-Pierce (Randall); 2 granddaughters, Kristina Bonds Chapman (Jonathan), and Nichole Bonds Black; sister, Nancy Hall of Indiana; great grandson, Connor Chapman; special friends, Jeanne and George Burris; several nieces and nephews and many other friends and relatives.
Kenneth was a proud veteran of both the US Marines (4 years), and the US Army (over 22 years). He was also retired SFC who served in Korea, a member of the VFW, American Legion, Fraternal Order of the Eagles, and other veteran organizations. He was a skilled woodworker and an avid clockmaker. Kenneth was quite good with his hands, and loved working in his shop, making clocks and working on his wood pieces while enjoying his Budweiser. Kenneth was greatly loved and will be missed by many!
You may visit with the family on Friday evening March 6, 2015 from 5:00-7:00 PM at Valhalla Funeral Home. There will be a funeral service conducted by Bro. Robert Sharp commencing at 10:00 AM on Saturday, March 7, 2015 in Valhalla’s Chapel. The interment, with Military honors, will follow immediately in Valhalla Memory Garden’s Veteran Section.
