

Kim Darrick Love was born to the late, James Love, Jr and to Dorothy A. Leslie Love on July 25, 1960, in Madison County, Alabama. Kim departed this life to an Eternal Rest on September 22, 2023, at Huntsville Hospital.
Kim was educated in the Huntsville City Schools system and graduated from J.O. Johnson High School in 1979. Kim moved to Nashville, Tennessee to attend Belmont College where he attended for two years. While in Nashville, Kim joined the Cowan Missionary Baptist Church, and later united with Grace International Church where he served as a Deacon. Kim was a talented singer and member of the “Heavenly Gold Singers”, the well-known vocal group appeared all around town and also were featured on the “Bobby Jones Gospel Show.”
Kim worked for Kroger’s in Nashville, Tennessee until he medically retired and moved back to Huntsville, Alabama. Upon moving back to Huntsville, he became a Karaoke Sensation around town. Kim was booked for weddings and other social events and won several Karaoke contests. Kim loved people regardless of who they were. He was an avid (Super Fan) fan of Alabama. He was affectionately called, “Daddy Love or DL.”
Kim was preceded in death by his father James Love, Jr. and Brother Reverend Calvin Bradley. Kim leaves to cherish his memory, a devoted mother Dorothy A. Leslie Love, Siblings; Beverly A. Love, James Cedric Love, Carolyn Love Rice (Johnnie), Sabrena Emmett and David Langford. Aunts: Ethel Dancy, Eugenia Warner, Donnie Cook (Theodore), Lilly L. Wilson, Mimi Love, Florence Love, Lottie Love, Sherie Hobbs, and Jackie Love. Uncles: Jimmie Don Leslie, Richard L. Leslie, Richard Love (Climmie), Eugene Leslie and Bill Love (Karen).Kim was raised with cousins, Mark Anthony Warner (Tracy) Devona Warner, Precious Warner, and Cedric Warner. Close friends - Rodney Graham, Raymond Gladney, Janice Houston, Geraldine Brown Weatherford, Jennifer Thompson and Debbie Gatlin.
