May Sue “Susie” Jones passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 18, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. Born on February 25, 1937, in Birmingham, Alabama, Susie lived a life rooted in faith, devotion, and quiet strength.
She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Redmond and Agnes, and her brother, Bill. She leaves behind a family who will forever cherish her memory: her son, Scott; her daughter, Shirley; her granddaughters, Mary Charlotte, Elizabeth, April, and Amy; and three precious great-grandchildren.
For more than 50 years, Susie was a faithful and devoted member of Epworth United Methodist Church, where her kindness and steady presence touched many lives. She dedicated her professional life to serving others as an Office Manager and Secretary, retiring from Texas Instruments after years of loyal service.
Susie found joy in life’s simple pleasures. Nothing delighted her more than cheering on Auburn football—she could always be counted on to do a little celebratory dance whenever Auburn scored, a memory her family will smile about for years to come. Her warmth, her laughter, and her unwavering love will be deeply missed.
Visitation will be held on Friday, February 27, 2026, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Valhalla Funeral Home. Funeral services will take place there on Saturday, February 28, 2026, at 3:00 p.m., with a committal service to follow.
