Raymond "Ray" Junior Frakes

Raymond "Ray" Junior Frakes 92, of Ardmore, Al passed away Wednesday, May 26, 2021 at his home. Ray was born on March 28, 1929 in Robinson, Kansas to the late Raymond E. Frakes and Mary Ellen Lewis Frakes. He was an Air Force Veteran from Nov. 19, 1951 until Nov. 18, 1955. He loved his kids and grandkids, but most of all he loved his wife of 47 years, Marie Frakes.

Ray was a huge Alabama Football Fan, he loved being outside in the yard planting flowers or planting their garden. He was a Christian and was a member of Wooley Springs Baptist Church for 25 years. He was also a Master Mason, dedicated to his craft.

Ray was preceded in death by his parents Raymond E. Frakes and Mary Ellen Frakes, Brothers Harold and Melvin Frakes, Sisters Dorothy McAlister and Twilla Selman, Son Jimmy Dale Frakes and Step-son Mike Overcast.

Ray is survived by his wife of 47 years Marie Frakes. Brother Dick Frakes. Sisters Jeanne Hickman, Ruth Ann "Babe" Richards. Sons Steve Frakes and his wife Debbie, Mike Frakes and his wife Lisa and Roger Overcast and his wife Carol. Daughters Linda Sheffield and her husband Morris and Sharon Hobbs and her husband Ricky and daughter in law Linda Overcast. As well as 13 grandchildren and a host of great grandchildren and friends.

Visitation will be Friday May 28, 2021 from 10:00 am until 11:00 am at Valhalla Funeral Home. The Celebration of Life Service Will be Friday May 28, 2021 at 11:00 am at Valhalla Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Tony Boyles officiating.
