Robert Joseph Long

*Beloved husband, father, grandfather, veteran, and follower of Christ*

Robert “Bob” Joseph Long, affectionately known as “Bop” by his grandchildren, passed away peacefully on August 12th, 2025, at 4:17 p.m, surrounded by his family.

Born on December 27, 1949, in Indianapolis, Indiana, Bob lived a life marked by quiet strength, Unwavering integrity, and deep devotion to the Lord and those he loved.

He is survived by his loving wife, Carol Long; his four daughters — Mandy Click (Jason), Stephanie Bradley (Jacob), Emily Clawson (Stuart), and Autumn Knox (Billy); his sister—Rebecca (Becky) Keesling (Kirt); and his cherished grandchildren — Alexa and Emery Bradley, Campbell, Chappell, and Callaway Knox, and Watts Clawson. He is also lovingly remembered by many nieces and nephews who meant so much to him.

Bob was preceded in death by his mother, Beatrice Long Keach; his father, Raymond Cecil Long; his stepmother, Vealie Copas Long; and his brothers, Raymond Cecil Long Jr. and Richard Gene Long.

A dedicated Electrical Engineer and veteran of the U.S. Air Force, Bob retired after a distinguished career with Boeing and the Missile Defense Agency.

He was a faithful christian and active member of Twickenham Church of Christ, where he formed lifelong friendships and lived out his commitment to service and community. He was a man of faith, humility, and quiet generosity, always ready with a listening ear, wise counsel, or a gentle smile. He had a deep and abiding love for Jesus, and it was evident in every part of his life.

A memorial service to celebrate Bob’s life will be held at Twickenham Church of Christ on Sunday, August 17th, 2025. Visitation will begin at 2:00 p.m. with the service to follow at 3:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to His Way Ministry, a cause close to Bob’s heart.

Though our hearts are heavy, we are grateful for the many years we had with Bob — our husband, dad, brother, and “Bop”. His legacy of love, faith, and humility will live on in all who knew him.
