

Beverly Eckstein Griffin, 87, of Indianapolis, passed away on Thursday, December 4, 2025. She was born on March 12, 1938 in Anderson, Indiana. The daughter of Walter and Vergie Eckstein. She graduated from St. Mary's High School in 1956 as valedictorian and from Marion College in 1961. Later, she received a Masters Degree from Butler University in 1983.
Beverly taught fourth grade in Minnesota and then she and her husband moved to Indianapolis where she taught at the Indiana School for the Blind from 1978 to 1988. She later served as a low vision consultant for students in Indianapolis Public Schools, retiring in 2000.
Beverly enjoyed needlepoint, gardening, reading, jigsaw puzzles, and international folk dancing. She was a member of Oasis at Glendale and was a volunteer at St. Vincent de Paul and her church's Hispanic Ministry.
She is survived by her children, Stephen (Julie) Griffin of Peoria, AZ, Bridget (Dan Brown) Raggio of Indianapolis, IN, and John Griffin of Homer, GA; grandchildren, Grace and Kristen Griffin, Jake Hanson, Gianna (Matthew Rude) Raggio, and Marisa Raggio.
Visitation for Beverly will be from 5-7 pm on Thursday, December 11th at Leppert Mortuary – Nora Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:30am on Friday at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church. Entombment follows at Maplewood Cemetery in Anderson, Indiana at 1:00pm.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Beverly's name may be made to Marion University Scholarship Fund, Society of St. Vincent de Paul or to Alzheimer’s Association.
