Catherine Ann (Murphy) Klee, 92, of Indianapolis, passed away peacefully on September 2, 2025, at Wellbrooke of Carmel surrounded by family members. She was born the first of four children to Charles and Margaret Murphy on January 23, 1933. Catherine was a graduate of St. Joan of Arc Catholic School in 1946 and St. Agnes Academy in 1950, where she met the love of her life, John. They were wed in 1952 and had four children: Tom, Mary, Charlie and Ann.
Catherine was a Girl Scout leader. She worked as an administrative assistant at Bishop Chatard High School and later as a Buyer for St. Vincent Hospital Gift Shop. She was first and foremost dedicated to her family. She enjoyed sewing, crafting, antiquing, furniture refinishing and home interior design. She was proud of her Irish heritage and made several trips to Kinsale, her father’s birthplace.
She is survived by her brother Steve (Karen) Murphy, sons Tom (Stephanie Stokes) Klee, Charles (Cass) Klee, daughter Ann (John) Kartholl and son-in law Steve Morrow as well as 10 grandchildren Gillian (Ed) Patmore, Christine (John Randall) Randall Klee, Emily (Chris) Birchall, Michael (Clare Wade) Klee, Sarah (JT) Funk, David Morrow, Claire (Matt) Bastian), Molly (Matt) Krier, Joe (Bria) Kartholl, Bridget Kartholl and 15 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John A. Klee, daughter Mary (Klee) Morrow, parents Charles and Margaret Murphy and sisters Rita (Murphy) Ponton, and Maureen (Murphy) Eaton.
Visitation for Catherine will be Monday September 8, 2025, from 9:00 am – 11:00 at Our Lady of Peace Cemetery Chapel 9001 Haverstick Road Indianapolis, IN 46240 followed by a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will then follow at Our Lady of Peace Cemetery.
