David E. Daly, age 97, of Indianapolis, died November 5, 2024. He was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, one of 5 children in a warm and loving family. David met his future wife, Pat Sheridan, at Marquette University. They married in 1951 and went on to have 3 children. In 1963, David moved with his family to Indianapolis to begin what came to be a long and rewarding employment with the RCA Corporation.
In Indianapolis David and his wife were very active parishioners at St. Pius X Catholic Church. He served as a Hospitality Minister and enjoyed singing in the funeral choir.
David’s last position at RCA was Vice-President of Product Planning for the Consumer Electronics Division. He retired in 1987. Following retirement David volunteered with the Executive Service Corps, as well as at St. Vincent’s Hospital.
In 1999 Pat and David moved to Marquette, a lovely senior living community in Indianapolis. After Pat’s death in 2004, David continued to be active with their friends, playing poker and sharing New Yorker cartoons at Sunday brunch.
A graveside Catholic Commitment Ceremony was conducted on November 8th by Father Jim Farrell (formerly Pastor at St. Pius X), with interment at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens. Pat and Dave are buried in a common crypt, both wearing the wedding rings they never removed in life.
David was preceded in death by Pat and also by their son, John. Survivors include daughters Patricia Daly and Mary Daly-Baniak; son-in-law Michael Baniak; grandson Michael Paul Baniak and his wife Anna Baniak; great grandson Connor Baniak; and numerous nieces and nephews who were very special to “Uncle Dave”.
